Masterpiece

Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece. -- Unknown

I read this at the doc office today. Made me laugh :)

Then I came home and found these online:

No matter how good she looks, some other guy is sick and tired of putting up with her crap. ~Author Unknown

Anne Frank

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a video has been released which shows Anne Frank (~9 seconds into the video). Yes, Anne Frank, the young child whose life was sadly cut short in a concentration camp.

It doesn't seem that big of a deal but I'm fascinated by the historical perspective.

Not just a roof

Some of these homes are pretty cool. My favorite has to be the tree house...this year Jason & I were actually thinking of taking the cabin trip in a tree house!!! (but it didn't happen because I decided to go back to school). Blah.

Maybe next year.

Vodka works

I had a somewhat of an interview with a Russian guy, who works for the government, who also would determine whether I end up working on this 'kind of a big deal' project (per my boss' boss), today.

Leading up to the interview I was hearing from folks about this guy's personality and honestly, he came across as a hard-ass. Mind you, I tend to get along with people like that but still anxiety builds up, right?

Well, this project is a BIG deal for me. I've been working at my company since April and have worked on two projects (each an application build/maintenance). This 'new' project is new for me but not the company. It generates quite a bit of revenue annually for the company so yeah, it is kind of a big deal.

My boss told me that this Russian guy got him kicked off a project a few years back. That didn't help my anxiety. Shit, if he didn't like my boss (who I love btw), he may not like me, right?

Long story short, the guy liked me! He manages a majority of the apps my company has built for this Client. SO THIS IS A HUGE GROWTH OPPORTUNITY for me!!!

During this interview, the guy even asked me what my drink of choice was. A bit surprised but not really since people had told me he enjoys his alco, I was honest and told him Vodka and Tequila. He then continued to tell me that he liked the answer but he's gonna have to move me from Ketel One Vodka to Bacardi. I looked at him and said g'luck. :)

Next week is my 'confirmation' --- which just means a happy hour for me :) He told me to send him my contact info and he'll work on getting my confirmation scheduled. I couldn't help but crack up.

I knew drinking would pay off one day!!!

I'm SUPER excited. GO ME! :)

4 years!!!

Jason & I celebrated our 4 year anniversary on the 4th of Sept. It was fantastic. He took me to this restaurant in DC, called 'Central' Michel Richard. The food was YUMMY! We had frog legs, rabbit, and sea bass. The frog legs were the best. I've been craving them ever since. We're gonna have to get back there very soon.

I believe I just found another favorite restaurant in the DC area. Although this one didn't have the menu on a football.

I love you babe!!!

Hard-headed

No, seriously...I forgot to mention:

I fell from the Wrangler on Friday night. It was in park, thankfully. My foot slipped on the side while getting out and I fell flat on my back - hit my scalp on the pavement in our driveway :( Jason ran to where I was laying and helped me get up. I was able to walk away :).

No worries - no broken bone, no major damage - just muscle & nerve pain. YAY for muscle relaxers and pain killers :( On Saturday, my neck became real stiff. Now I can't turn it fast so I will not be driving any time soon. Blah. The back is starting to ache slowly but I can ignore that. I just wish my neck wasn't so bad. You know when you sometimes flex your neck muscles and it becomes stiff, well - mine is like that all the time right now :( but hey, that's the price I pay for being clumsy, or stupid, or dumb, or whatever.

Jason always tells me I'm hard-headed, now there's proof. Yes - I'm aware, I'm a dumb-ass.

ok bye.

Slacker

We got another dog!!! Rascal was ready for big brother responsibilities. Bandit, is an 11 month yorkie mix, rescue pup. He is the sweetest thing ever (next to Rascal). The two are getting along far better than we had originally anticipated. They play w/the same toys, although the Monkey is off-limits. They sleep on the bed with us. They are fantastic.

What else is new? Well, I found out that I may be having to commute to DC for a few weeks (daily)! I wasn't too happy about it but I made sure the company was going to reimburse me for the tolls, mileage, and parking. I am happy about it because it's a great opportunity for me to get in front of the Client. The new project, for which I will commute to DC, is 'kind of a big deal', as my manager's manager said to me. Hopefully this is my time to shine and I don't burn!!!

Jason's had really good improvements since he had his tonsils removed. He no longer snores, which means I sleep better (well I was until I fell on Friday). His sleep apnea has improved as well. He went from 40+ times an hour to 10 times holding his breath. YAY!

Anything else...yes! Skins lost. It seemed we were amateurs on the field. WTF is wrong w/the team!? Thankfully Cooley helped us in retaining the slightest bit of pride the fans have left.

OOOOO - I started school again! I registered for classes through UMUC. The coursework is online but the final is proctored either at the UMUC campus or a satellite school. So far it's been good but the participation part is taking some of my Rascal & Bandit belly rubbing time :( It'll be worth it though so I shouldn't complain.

My parents flew in from India last week. They are staying with the eldest sister. We've been down to Annandale twice to see them and I absolutely do not like that drive. In the Wrangler though, we realized we can put the back seats down completely and lay these dog mats for the boys and they have fun back there. They don't mind the drive as much considering they play w/their toys the whole time. And hell, if we hit rush hour traffic - even better. They both start going crazy at the cars, especially if someone looks at them and say "o, how cute." Yeah, my boys think if they bark at a compliment then perhaps, just perhaps someone will get out of their car, in the middle of the road, and rub their belly. Hey, can't blame them for trying. LOL.

Here's Bandit. More pics to follow...
